Two horse race in Mid Sussex as Labour rated as 100/1 outsiders

10 Apr 2010

With voters in Mid Sussex only weeks away from electing a new MP to represent our area it has become clear that the race will be between Serena Tierney's Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives. Well known bookmakers, Ladbrokes, have written off Labour's chances with odds of 100/1.

Many Labour voters in Mid Sussex are switching their support to Serena Tierney and the Liberal Democrats as the best chance for real change in our area.

"It's time for real change for our area." says Lib Dem parliamentary campaigner, Serena Tierney. "I've been speaking to people in local towns and villages and they are telling me that they feel let down by Labour and can't trust the Tories.

"It was close here last time and will be even closer this time. The Conservative MP has only managed to attend just over half the time in this parliament, and his register of interests shows him spending a quarter of his time on his jobs outside parliament.

"We need new politics in this country. Fairer taxes, more money for schools, investment in green jobs, and a fair voting system. Above all we need a full time MP who keeps people informed about what she's doing on their behalf. Only the Liberal Democrats are promising those things."
