Save the PRH - Update
Recent revelations about the poor state of finances at the local NHS Trust have also pointed to the consultation over possible reductions in services offered at the Princess Royal being a sham.
And MP Nicholas Soams has done a 'U' Turn on the issue just months after the General Election, now accepting "... that the safety and security of patients ... needing trauma care is better secured by them going to Brighton."
Lib Dem campaigner, Serena Tierney is very angry about the decision, because it results in the taking away of trauma and emergency care, and will further undermine the PRH. She is looking to get this decision overturned if it can be shown that the decision was indeed taken before consultation took place.
Lib Dems have launched a web site to monitor NHS shortcomings, http://www.libdemnhswatch.com is a site where whistle blowers can anonymously inform the Liberal Democrats about secret decisions; their effects and issues of concern. The site has been launched by Lib Dem MP, Steve Webb, Shadow Health Secretary.
Serena is also concerned about the way in which the Mid Sussex area has been badly served following the merger of the NHS Trusts locally and the huge financial deficit now appearing despite the assurances given by outgoing outgoing chairman of Mid Sussex at the time of the merger. Serena is asking questions about how we got into this financial mess, and who got us there.
