'Preserve the PRH' Campaign Launched

26 Oct 2004

Serena Tierney, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesman, has called a meeting of local community leaders to launch the Preserve the PRH Campaign.

Services at the Princess Royal Hospital are under threat as the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Trust launch a review of Hospital provision locally. The 24-hour Trauma service, which treats accident victims, is threatened.

The Campaign aims to make sure local communities' opposition to plans to downgrade services at the Hospital is heard.

Serena Tierney says: "The launch of the Preserve the PRH campaign will give the local community a strong, united voice against any proposals to close or downgrade services at the Princess Royal Hospital.

"It is clear how important the Hospital services are to local people. Thousands have already signed my petition against the cuts.

"When the public consultation starts in November it is vital that the concerns of Mid Sussex residents are listened to. The Preserve the PRH campaign will make sure that happens."
