LIB DEMS BACK FIGHT AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE

29 Jun 2006

Mid Sussex District Council at its June meeting substantially adopted the Liberal Democrat proposal to agree to sign up to the Nottingham Declaration on Climate Change

The Lib Dems brought this motion to council because we believe there is an urgency to try and tackle climate change as soon as possible. Cllr David Shevels had done an excellent job in bringing the motion, which gives added impetuses to the contribution Mid Sussex District Council makes in its efforts to combat climate change. David also praised the efforts of his colleague Brian Hall in making this motion relevant to Mid Sussex and the research Brian had undertaken regarding the Nottingham Declaration. Brian as the West Sussex County Councillor in Haywards Heath had presented the motion to the County Council who adopted it a few months ago.
