Eggleston's plan to revive our High Streets

27 Nov 2019

Robert Eggleston, the Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Mid Sussex vows to tackle the threat to our local town and village centres.

"Our town centres are under threat because of changes to the way we all live and the costs of running a shop, pub and local business. We want to see the unfair business rates system replaced and an end to punishing businesses for investing in their buildings" Robert says.

The Liberal Democrats will finance the transformation of town centres by expanding the Future High Streets Fund, scrap the rule which allows developers to convert offices and shops into residential properties without planning permission and ensure a fairer tax system that ensures the revenue generated within our communities, stays there.
