Welcome to my Monday Mail for 27 May 2024.
I will be the Liberal Democrat candidate for Mid Sussex in the General Election on Thursday 4th July. Read about our plan, the campaign, the manifesto and find out how you can help.
I love it when a plan comes together
24 hours after the general election was called, we had a brilliant evening in Haywards Heath launching my campaign to become the next MP for Mid Sussex. Thanks to everyone who came along, it was great to see you all.
Afterwards, we held our Business Event with special guest Lord Chris Fox. Chris spoke with authority on the Liberal Democrat approach to business and industrial strategy via AI, farming, and the perils of post Brexit trade deals. A massive thank you to Chris for making it to Sussex on what had been an important and busy day in Westminster.
The campaign begins
By the time you read this, we will have delivered our launch leaflet to over 90% of the constituency. The first garden posters have sprung up, and we have been making the most of the sunshine to get out and talk to lots of residents. There has also been a flurry of activity behind the scenes, welcoming new helpers, stuffing envelopes and putting in place our plans for the next six weeks.
What about a manifesto?
The Liberal Democrat Manifesto won't be published for a few weeks. Meanwhile our Vision for a Fair Deal and the more detailed ‘Pre-Manifesto’ will give you a good idea about what our priorities are.
