March 22, 2019 10:21 AM

The District Council elections are coming up on Thursday 2nd May. Here are our candidates for Hurstpierpoint & Downs:

Alison Bennett

Alison Bennett

Alison grew up in Gloucestershire and then went to Cambridge University where she studied Social and Political Sciences. She worked in aviation, energy and financial services before moving to Hurstpierpoint with her young family in 2012. In November, Alison was selected to be the Liberal Democrat candidate at the next general election for Arundel and South Downs. Away from politics, Alison has helped with local football and drama clubs, and enjoys running on the South Downs.

Paul Herve

Paul Hervé

A software engineer, Paul grew up in Haywards Heath attending Oathall School. He studied Computer Science at the University of Surrey and went on to work in the aerospace, data science and financial services industries. Paul now lives in Hurstpierpoint with his wife and children. He joined the Lib Dems in 2016 because they were the only party fighting for fairness and reason. Paul enjoys the outdoors, especially cycling; going to the beach, and taking his kids camping.

Rodney Jackson

Rodney Jackson

Rodney has lived in Hurstpierpoint for fifty-one years and has contributed much in that time to make the village an even better place to live. He has been a member of Hurstpierpoint and Sayers Common Parish Council for almost three decades and before retirement worked as a government health and safety inspector. Rodney has always encouraged young people to achieve their potential, during his career as a Chemistry teacher and in his ongoing role as the leader of the village Scout Group.
